Should we be eating insects

Here’s a topic that just might turn your stomach. Should we be eating insects? Really the disgust of eating insects has nothing to do with flavor but everything to do with cultural habit. In western society we grow up thinking it’s gross because everyone else says it’s gross, and that’s because they grew up with everyone telling them it’s gross, with no one ever actually trying it or acquiring a taste for these nutrient rich critters. If everyone told you to jump off a bridge would you do it? So why do we listen to everyone else when nature has freely provided us with this great abundance since the dawn of existence?
So should we be eating insects?
Well that’s up to you, but many experts agree that we should. With the right education and knowing which are safe to eat, you’ll never go hungry with this skill. Bear Grylls and Les Stroud both do it and it doesn’t hurt them at all. Besides, bug eating for most of the western world is a lost art that is still shared by many cultures around the world even today. Just think, if we can change modern thinking and go back to our primitive eating habits we’ll all be a lot healthier and tax payers will no longer be on the hook for food stamps. If you are ready to take the plunge here is a great recipe book to start with.
