Rothco Covert Ops Light Weight Soft Shell Jacket
2 min read
Here’s a great jacket that serves a very practical purpose while dressing in style. Those of you who know how often I travel, also know that I always travel light and this soft shell jacket from Rothco offers that opportunity. Last year I had a chance to test this jacket out for review, so I took it with me on my trip to see my wife in the Philippines last December. Now, keep in mind that this jacket isn’t designed for sub-zero temperatures as it was in Spokane, Washington when I left, nor the 90+ degree tropical climate in the Philippines. But I figured the trip would give me a wide temperature range to try it out it in. When walking out to the tarmac to the plane at the Spokane International Airport in sub-zero temperature, this jacket afforded the windbreak I needed to not freeze on the way to the plane (albeit short distance it was mighty cold outside. But where I was going, I had no room or need for a heavier jacket). Where it came in real handy was on the plane itself. It seems every time I catch a flight, the cabin temperature is about 10 degrees colder than what it should be. This jacket was plenty to keep the chill off, but not cumbersome to lose any comfort wearing it for the entire duration of the trip.

Soft Shell Jacket Excellent for rainy/windy days
Last month I had to work outside in a very windy, and very rainy day. This was the second time I had a really good chance to test this jacket out. The softshell features a 100% waterproof outer shell and concealed hood w/zipper closure, and was my jacket of choice for these conditions.
For those of you who are into tactical gear, you will enjoy the durability along with the zippered pockets on the front, right forearm sleeve, and left shoulder sleeve as well as the 4″ loop for patch attachment on both shoulders.
For practicality, durability, quality and name brand, you can’t beat the price
You can get your Rothco softshell jacket here.
Enjoy!
