The 6 Big Prepping Goals of 2019
3 min read
The New Year is upon us and we are facing yet another year to get better prepared than we were in the previous year. It can all be a little overwhelming. Still, we all have important goals and its critical that we see them out.
So where on earth do you start when putting together your preparedness goals for 2019? Well, one of the best places to look are within this years failures.
What you failed at this year needs improvement. Its one of the most telling areas to really sit down and think about. We have all had failures of some kind and 2019 is the year to get better in those areas.
Lets look at 6 areas that can be big prepping goals in 2019. These 6 areas will sure up the foundation of your preparedness.
Water
We have three days without water. There are no exceptions to that rule. When you add in family members you realize that if you aren’t storing water you are at a huge survival deficit.
Solve that this year with a wide range of water storage solutions from catchment to sourcing and filtering.
Food
Obviously food is going to be an issue to most preppers. Do you have enough food? Do you have the right food on hand? These are all important questions to ask yourself in 2019.
Also, is the food you have on hand in date and safe to eat?
Invest in building buckets of long term food storage. This is a simple process if you have Mylar bags, buckets and oxygen absorbers.
Power
One of the topics that is not explored as often as it should be is power. We have to have the ability to power some of our devices and some of our home in a disaster.
The options are many but you might look to a portable solar or gas generator in 2019.
Security
Security is all that you make it. You can aspire to have a serious fortress with cameras and door armor and the whole 9 yards. You might also just settle for a 12 gauge.
80 Percent Lower
We have to discuss the increased pressures on the second amendment. It might be time to invest in an 80 percent lower and learn to build your own firearm. We just dont know what the future will hold.
First Aid
First aid is one of those sneaky categories. You might think that you have things sure’d up in the first aid category but those store bought first aid kits need a lot of improving.
Add to your first aid stockpile in 2019 with buckets of gauze, tape and rubber gloves. These makes all the difference.
Evacuation
As a population we struggle with evacuation. It seems like we have not hammered down the process. Look to add a small safe to your setup that contains all of your evacuation docs and cash, maybe a gun, too!
There is always room for improvement. Lets make 2019 a banner year for prepping!
